we’re SOOOO excited you’re here. the cs girlies community is built on girlies like you who want to make learning tech more soft, fun, and deeply powerful.

this guide walks you through everything you need to know to create your first (or tenth!) educator video. and if anything feels confusing, just drop your q’s in the #educators channel on discord 🫶

📝 2. What even is an educator video?

it’s a short, helpful, accessible video that explains something tech-related in your own voice. it can be:

• you talking directly to the camera
• a screen recording w/ voiceover
• an aesthetic b-roll with info in the captions
• a carousel of photos (yep, not even in a video) with captions sharing a list, insight, or story
• something chaotic, cute, deep, or all of the above!!!

educator videos should be easy to understand, true to your personality, and kind to beginners. think of your younger, less experienced self and teach her.

you’re not teaching strangers. you’re teaching someone just like you, just a little earlier in the journey.
